Challenges – priorities for Mission Cities

V1 Updated - June 2026

Info For Cities:
Draft materials outlining a set of emerging mission-relevant areas are below, allowing cities with an opportunity to reflect on how these shared implementation barriers intersect with their own priorities for climate neutrality. Cities are encouraged to explore the contents of the challenge areas (as appropriate or relevant to their needs) and consider how they align with their local context, ongoing work, strategic directions and long-term impacts towards climate-neutrality.

To aid this process, cities are invited to complete a short feedback survey to share their perspectives, insights, and considerations. The survey offers a structured way to highlight which areas feel most relevant, where the framing is helpful or unclear, what may be missing, and what would make the overall approach more useful in practice for cities. It is designed as a light-touch input, typically taking only a few minutes to complete, while also allowing space for more detailed reflections.

This feedback will play an important role in refining and strengthening the Challenge approach going forward, ensuring it reflects the realities, needs, and ambitions of Mission Cities. Alongside the survey, there may be opportunities for further informal exchange, including drop-in discussions, to deepen the input gathered. All contributions will help inform the ongoing development of support and future city support activities.

Step 1. View and download the draft materials below.
Step 2. Review and select preferred challenges.
