This policy brief gives some early results of the LOCALISED project that highlight the critical insights into the regional distribution of investments needed to achieve net zero emissions across Europe. For example, LOCALISED provides the first estimate of projected investment needs in individual regions and offers a solution with an innovative method for downscaling national decarbonisation plans to the local level by providing detailed, stakeholder-specific maps for all European Member States at the regional or city level (NUTS-3). This tool equips regions with the crucial data needed for effective climate action planning and investment.
