In 2019, Cidade Center Norte, the centre of the North Zone, organised an initiative to foster greater economic, social and environmentla stability in the region. Then, an initiative guided by Reos Partners the Cidade Center Norte, a philantropic arm of the Center Norte, a Brazilian retailer, a Brazilian micro and small business supoort service, and the local public administration came together to form an alliance. Together they mapped the social organisations and actors in the North Zone and invited people from the ecosystem to formulate actions to improve the region.

Participants: police, priests, healthcare workers, city workers and NGO leaders

The stakeholders mapped out the social actors and organisations in the North Zone and invited people from this ecosystem to represent a range of voices.
Reos Partners organised a two-day workshop with participants from diverse backgrounds. Aim of the workshop was to foster dialogue among participants.
Before the workshop, Reos Partners held individual interviews with the participants to hear about their own perspectives of the issues and express what works and what doesn’t.
In the workshop, participants worked on identifying challenges and opportunities on a map.
Learning journey- tour to help participants discover the real-life challenges of the situation of a region in dire condition occupied by 700 families.
After the workshop, water and electric workers went to some neglected areas of the area and cleaned the sewers and changed the lights.
