Gabrovo Municipality is nestled in the Balkan Mountains, alongside the Yantra River, which contributes to its natural beauty and diverse ecological landscape. The city is the administrative center of the municipality, which includes 133 villages and covers an area of 555.579 km². The population of Gabrovo Municipality is 64,000 people. More than half of the municipality's area is covered by forests, highlighting its rich biodiversity and commitment to preserving natural resources. Historically known as "The Bulgarian Manchester," Gabrovo has been at the forefront of Bulgaria's industrial development for over 150 years, initiating modern factory production during the 19th century. This legacy of innovation and entrepreneurship remains a cornerstone of Gabrovo's identity, supporting its strategic ambitions today.
