The GreenInCities initiative, submitted under the HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-CITIES-01 program, aims to revolutionize urban planning by integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to combat climate change and enhance resilience in cities, particularly in deprived areas. In recent years, urban regeneration has focused on affluent regions, often neglecting communities facing significant environmental and social challenges. The GreenInCities proposal recognizes the urgent need to address these disparities through innovative methodologies that foster collaborative climate adaptation and mitigation strategies. Key Objectives: 1) Enhance Community Engagement By leveraging cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence and immersive realities, GreenInCities will empower vulnerable groups, improving societal readiness and awareness. 2) Promote Inclusive Urban Solutions The initiative will implement NBS that prioritize environmental sustainability while addressing urban issues such as pollution and inadequate public spaces. 3) Foster Collaborative Approaches Through participatory planning, the project aims to co-create solutions that reflect the needs and desires of local communities, ensuring that urban regeneration benefits all citizens.
